Four stars to attract miners

Cashed-up miners will soon be able to bask in the luxury of four-star resort-style living, as a $180 million facility outside Gladstone turns the traditional donga on its head.

This comes as 240 rooms in the first stage of The Maroon Group’s Calliope facility hits the accommodation market next week, with a further 432 rooms coming online in March 2012 and the remaining 900-odd rooms within a year.
